Food photography is one of my strongest styles of photography and one that I have been keenly perfecting for the past four years. I have worked on a monthly basis with a local magazine and now a by-weekly newspaper covering the delectable cuisine of various local restaurants. Food photography is a kind of fine art photography that many photographers find very difficult, but I find fascinating as well as rewarding after I get to sample the goods. The amount of time I have spent looking at different food dishes thru a camera lens, working with food stylists, as well as the chefs that prepare it is extremely vast. I have seen many of the same types of foods prepared and arranged in different ways and I always try to make each dish appear unique as well as inviting. My goal in food photography is to literally bring the viewer into a pleasant state as well as call to action by evoking a "Pavlovian effect." For example if I am photographing a lasagna, I want the viewer to be able to smell the meat sauce as well as know that the cheeses are hot. What a treat it is for me to work in this highly specific area of photography and have the pleasure of working with so many accomplished chefs in the Knoxville and surrounding areas.
