A.D. McGhee, left, and Bob McGhee hold onto the rails, while walking through the “psychedelic vortex,” inside the Cherokee Caverns. If you ever get a chance to walk thru this vortex think twice…it put me on my ear for a good little bit afterwards.

This stuff is righteous to look at, however being in a cave still freaks me out and I just don’t like being in them. Seeing the way back out makes me joyful.

This is the most delicious assignment I’ve had in a little while…I did not sample them all; however I did sit down at The Orangery for this very tasty treat you see first…I believe the Smoked Salmon was cooked to perfection with the slightest crunch at the end with a lemon flavor that lingered for just a couple of seconds with each bite. The poached egg was cooked to perfection as well with a creamy white and mellow yoke to ooze over the English Muffins.

This is Washington DC seen by me with just a little over an hour to spend while not on the job from last year’s assignment on “the hill.” Hope you enjoy…I was really feeling the pace of DC, life’s fleeting  hour glass ticking, and the reality of catching my flight home.

Wow, it has been12 years since I first started stringing with the Knoxville News Sentinel and started with High School Football. Today is Friday and we are just waiting on our little girl to be born any day now. Smiles…
